The History of GnOme DOme

The first GnOme DOme was in 2002.  Kenevican had recently moved into a home in Manitou Springs which had recently been owned by Zeezo the Clown.  Zeezo had left his antique gnome collection behind.  One evening shortly after moving in, one of the gnomes suddenly came alive and began speaking to Kenevican and his friend Jason.  The gnome’s name was Ruckus and he was one of the shorter gnomes measuring only 4 inches tall.  He was blind and smoked a pipe that was almost as big as himself.  Jason and Kenevican were shocked to be talking to a real live gnome.  Ruckus explained to them that he wished to fly to the moon in a rocket ship as that is where his home was.  Kenevican and Jason set about obtaining a rocket ship and told Ruckus to pack his bags.  A date was set, and all friends of the gnomes were invited.  The first of many GnOme Domes started off with great fanfare.  Ruckus’s rocket was set to launch at midnight and everyone in attendance was excited to send Ruckus off in style.  Unfortunately, Ruckus was kidnapped by Kenevican’s own father and the launch had to be delayed.   Ruckus eventually made it back to Manitou and his journey to the moon took off without a hitch.  He eventually returned to Planet Earth as he had made so many new friends.  His only request was that we commemorate his trip with an annual GnOme DOme Festival.   The first few were held in Manitou until they found their final spot at Lake Elemental in Florissant.  There are many stories that can be told of the shenanigans that have taken place over the years.  Please come and add to the stories yet to be told!
